February 26 & 27, 2014. Lahore.
Lahore saw approximately 300 Beaconhouse and The Educators students from all over Pakistan congregate at the Wapda Sports Complex to compete in athletics, table tennis, badminton and basketball matches. The event was organized by Beaconhouse School Group II in the Central Region and they did a wonderful job of making sure that the event ran smoothly.
The first day saw the event opened by Beaconhouse CEO Mr. Kasim Kasuri, with Mr. Ali Kasuri also in attendance. Mr. Kasim Kasuri emphasized the importance of sports to the Beaconhouse community in his speech and spoke about the role it plays in the overall development of our youth. He said sports are very important in preparing our students for adult life. Some 300 students and around 60 officials provided a very colorful march-in and this was followed by wonderful displays by students from Beaconhouse & The Educators schools. Around 1,000 spectators were in attendance and they provided great support to all the participants.
The first day was very hectic, with lots of exceptional performances in athletics and some very close and exciting contests in badminton, basketball and table tennis. Students had a chance to shine and excel in both team and individual events. It was also wonderful to see the introduction of younger age groups in the athletics events as one of the aims of the Sports Department is to provide more sporting opportunities for boys and girls aged 11 to 14 years.
Team Educators participated for the very first time in the Athletics Carnival of this event. 28 student participants and 6 instructors comprised of The Educators team. Team Educators won 10 medals in altogether: 1 gold, 1 silver and 8 bronze medal.

Records were being broken in the athletics carnival so the future looks bright for Pakistan and Beaconhouse athletics. Part of the aim of the Beaconhouse sports programme is to ensure students learn how to work as a team, cooperate with each other, improve individual skills and always show good sportsmanship. All of these virtues could be seen clearly at each of the events and these students will definitely go on to become excellent leaders in future.
The Chief Guest on the final day, Mr. Hissam Hyder, a world-class polo player, was very impressed with the standard of competition and enjoyed watching many events before the closing ceremony. Events this year have shown that our students are among the best in Pakistan. In future years, we hope that our students will also have the opportunity to excel on the international stage.
